Moreton Downs is committed to improving learning outcomes for all students, but provides extensive resourcing to improve learning opportunities for students in our early years. Some of our programs include; Reading Recovery with two teachers involved in a one on one program for reading and writing, Support-a-reader and Support-a-writer , where tutors work with identified students each day, Oral language and speech programs for students experiencing difficulties in these areas, and Gross motor program for all students in years 1 and 2.
This school spends a considerable amount of its budget in providing additional teacher aide and tutor time to provide these programs and also staffs its years 1,2 and 3 with an additional teacher in the mornings to provide extra learning support and extension for students in these early years.
